Our Nursery is Opening
Our nursery care for those five and under will reopen alongside the start of in-person worship on Ash Wednesday. We will again routinely offer childcare from 8:50-11:15am on Sunday mornings so that you can comfortably attend Sunday School and worship. We will continue to use the Preschool classrooms and playground as appropriate. Please spread the word that we are still in need of additional nursery workers.
Sunday School Will be Back in Person
We'll be returning to weekly, in person Sunday School starting on Sunday, March 6. Sunday School will run from 9-9:45am each week, with class offerings for Preschool, K-2, 3rd-4th and Club 56. We will return to our December learning locations in the gym and preschool and our teachers are excited to get back to their classes! There is still room to volunteer if you are interested.
Learning During Lent Together
Lent is the 40 days, not counting Sundays, that lead up to our Easter celebration. During this time, we really dig down deep and focus on our faith, what it means to us and how to practice it in our own lives. I am so excited that this year we'll be tying our Sunday School directly into walking the walk during Lent. Each week we'll focus on a different spiritual practice during our Sunday School hour, and then you as families will be able to put that practice into action in your own home through a take-home kit I'm preparing. We'll be learning and trying fasting, praying, listening to God, living simpler and unplugging during this season of focus.
Bible Presentation to 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders
WPC has an annual tradition of presenting our 3rd graders with their very own Bibles as a gift from our worshipping community. These Bibles are given in recognition of the children's value as a part of our faith community, their continued growth within the faith, and in recognition of their own ability to start studying the Scriptures on their own. Since the pandemic didn't allow us to continue our annual tradition in 2020 and 2021, we'll be presenting Bibles to our current 3rd, 4th and 5th graders as part of our worship service on March 20. It is the perfect week since we'll be studying the spiritual practice of Listening to God in our classes that week.
Easter Children's Choir
Ken Udy, our wonderful Director of Music, and I are very excited to announce that we will be having our very own Children's Choir sing on Easter Sunday this year! The children will rehearse after church each Sunday during Lent. Practice will be no more than 30 minutes. More details to come!
Vacation Bible School is Coming!
Mark your calendars for the evenings of June 12-15 for this year's Wasatch version of Vacation Bible School. We had an AMAZING Compassion Camp last year and we are excited to do it again together this year. Registration information for participants AND volunteers will be released in mid-March. Save the date!
