Plaque hanging in the Sugarhouse Office

GOT TWO HOURS?

You can serve the hungry/homeless of Salt Lake at Catholic Community Services St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. Lunch and dinner shifts are available. Wasatch Presbyterian members have served at the Soup Kitchen for over 40 years! And it’s so easy!

St. Vincent de Paul kitchen prepares about 1800 hot meals a day for the three resource centers, 2 overflow shelters, and their downtown dining hall. People are needed to staff the serving line, hand out the meal tray and receive the used tray to hand to the dishwasher. Meal prep and wrapping of plasticware can also be done.

Serving Lunch

Wasatch crews serve the Lunch Shift on the First Wednesday of the month. Lunch Shift is from 11.00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and volunteers must be at least 12 years old.  Contact Shelley Horel (rochellehorel@gmail.com), or Alysia Harris (delraydog@comcast.net).  Carpool from the church at 10:30 a.m. or meet us at St. Vincent’s.

Sandwich Making (at Wasatch)

Join us to make sandwiches the last Tuesday of the month. We gather in the church gym or main serving area in the morning (10am) to make 500+ sandwiches. It takes about an hour, all are welcome and encouraged to assist.

Questions? Want to Help?

If you have questions about sandwich making or serving, or would like to lend a hand, please contact Alysia Harris at delraydog@comcast.net or Jerry Richardson at jerry@pinnaclecanyon.com.

We love new faces and helping hands.  Also, we love to share this ministry with groups outside of Wasatch.  So if your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, church, school, etc. are interested in a fun volunteer opportunity, please contact Alysia or Jerry.
