2024 Chiang Mai Christian School Mission Trip
Our long anticipated return to the Chiang Mai Christian School in Chiang Mai Thailand coupled with its optional extension trip into the country of Laos, is now scheduled for January 25th to February 15th, 2024. Travel Agent Asia Answers out of Bellview Washington will handle all trip arrangements. Come with us and experience this rare opportunity to engage personally with, and come to know the teachers and students, K-12, at the Chiang Mai Christian School. As the trip unfolds, you’ll come to love and appreciate these gracious people, their kindness, customs, culture and history in Southeast Asia’s countries of Thailand and Laos. All Hotels are First Class Including Morning Breakfast and all the Amenities.
ITINERARY
On Day 1, depart SLC, USA Jan 25 by Korean Air to Seattle USA; to Seoul South Korea; to Chiang Mai Thailand arriving Jan 26. Korean Air partners with Delta Air lines.
Conduct the Chiang Mai Christian School portion of the trip from Jan 26 to Feb 5 lasting 11 days. On arrival in Chiang Mai, our lodging will be at Rimping Village, a boutique hotel in Chiang Mai located near many attractions including The Night Market.
Chiang Mai Thailand Highlights:
Meeting the teachers and students of the Chiang Mai Christian School.
Engaging personally with the students in their classrooms each weekday morning. Lunch is provided in the teacher’s lounge each weekday.
Visiting the many cultural sites, industries, and historical attractions in Chiang Mai as well as fun activities outside the city each weekday afternoon.
Visiting and shopping in Chiang Mai’s famous “Night Market.”
Attending services at two different Thai Christian Churches on the two Sundays we are in Chiang Mai.
On Day 11, depart Chiang Mai Thailand. People not wishing to do the optional extension trip into the country of Laos, will depart Chiang Mai Thailand Feb 5 via Korea Air, arrive SLC, UT Feb 6.
People continuing on the trip will Depart Chiang Mai Thailand by bus on Feb 5 arriving Chiang Rai Thailand Feb 5. Lodging is at The Legend Boutique River Resort & Spa. The Chiang Rai portion of the trip Is from Feb 5 to Feb 8 lasting 4 days.
Chiang Rai Thailand Highlights:
Visit the Golden Triangle of Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), and Laos.
Experience a long-tail speed boat ride along the Mekong River.
Visit the 5,600 sq-meter Hall of Opium Museum visually portraying the history of Opium dating back 5000 years.
Visit The City of Three Colored Temples learning about Buddha’s purity and teachings about heaven, Hell, Karma, and earthly sins.
On Day 14, depart Chiang Rai Thailand Feb 8 by bus Arriving Luang Probang Laos Feb 8. The Luang Probang Laos portion of the trip is from Feb 8 to Feb 11 lasting 4 days. Lodging will be at The Satri House Boutique Hotel.
Luang Probang Laos Highlights:
Conduct a full day city tour with time out for lunch. You’ll visit the Luang Probang National Museum, Kuang Sii Waterfalls & Bear Rescue Center.
Visit priceless monuments and the My Library, a regional community Technical College that serves a wide region.
Visit the Luang Progang National Museum
Enjoy a traditional lunch of delicious and healthy noodle soup or tasty spring rolls filled with vegetables or meat.
Full day tour of Elephant Village located in the beautiful and unspoiled Nam Khan River valley.
On Day 17, depart Luang Probang Laos Feb 11 by air arriving Bangkok Thailand Feb 11. The Bangkok Thailand portion of the trip is from Feb 11 to Feb 15 lasting 4 days. Lodging is at The Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok on the Chao Phraya River.
Bangkok Thailand Highlights:
Visit the Grand Palace & Wat Po, a “Must See” attraction in Bangkok including the sacred Emerald Budda and temple gardens.
Explore Bangkok on a full afternoon boat tour on the Thonburi Klongs (Rivers) known as the “Venice of the East”. This includes a stop at Bangkok's picturesque Temple of Dawn.
Enjoy a full day tour of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market 110 km from Bangkok in the Ratchaburi province including a long-tail boat ride through the canals connecting many riverside communities.
Hopefully spend an evening including dinner at the Christian Guest House of Bangkok. It serves as an educational and housing resource for Christian missionaries and workers in Thailand. TBD

Chiang Mai Christian School 2021 Fundraiser
In September of 1996, Wasatch Presbyterian Church celebrated its 50th Anniversary as a church. As part of that celebration, Wasatch chose to commemorate the occasion by starting an overseas mission project to be sustained and supported year to year. That project is the Chiang Mai Christian School in Chiang Mai Thailand. Each year since 1996, Wasatch has provided a minimum of $3,500.00 in scholarship support for disadvantaged K-12 students who may be orphaned, come from broken homes, or otherwise need financial support. Let's celebrate Wasatch Presbyterian Church's 2021 75th Anniversary, and reaffirm our support for the Chiang Mai Christian School with many thoughtfully planned financial gifts. 2018 represents the 22nd year Wasatch Presbyterian Church has supported the Chiang Mai Christian School in Chiang Mai, Thailand by providing scholarship funding for needy students. Recipient children may be orphaned, come from broken homes, or otherwise need financial assistance.
Chiang Mai 2018 Trip
In late January and early February 2018, Wasatch sent missionary representatives to the school to personally deliver our scholarship check, school supplies, and to personally interact with the students and staff.
