Youth Ministry Mission Statement
Youth Ministry at Wasatch seeks to:
Call young People to be disciples of Jesus Christ
Respond to the needs and interests of young people
Work together, youth and adults in partnership
Be connected to the whole church, community and the world.
Include all young people, reaching out and inviting them to belong to the community of faith.
We do this through:
Youth Ministry Hour AKA Sunday School
Sunday mornings from 10:10-11:00 am up in the Loft on the 3rd floor. We start with breakfast, energizers and then move into the lesson. During this time youth will be invited to participate in bible study, crafts and journal on the Bible lesson for the day. When appropriate youth will be divided into Jr. and Sr. High discussion groups.
Worship Opportunities
Wasatch offers two distinctly different worship services. The 9:00 am i believe worship offers an intimate, informal, and interactive style that families can participate in together. The 11:15 am Traditional worship offers families a traditional worship style filled with music and message to fill the spirit. Youth are invited to participate as readers for both services. Please contact Amy Kim (kyremesparks@wpcslc.org) if you are interested.
Confirmation
Confirmation is open to youth grades 8-12 desiring intentional time for discovering what they believe in, what the Presbyterian Church believes, what being a member is all about and everything in between. Youth are paired up with and adult member of the congregation that serves as a mentor through this process. This is a nine-month process that is offered every other program year. Sign-up’s for the next class begin in May for the confirmation class of 2010-2011 which will begin in the fall of 2010.
Mission and Service Opportunities
Youth Ministry offers a variety of opportunities for mission and service including pancake breakfasts, sandwich making, family promise and more. Youth not only participate, they are often leading opportunities among their peers.

Annual Fiesta Fundraiser
Each spring Youth and Parents organize and execute a FIESTA! The evenings activities include a silent auction, children’s games, authentic Mexican dinner and live entertainment. All of the proceeds from this event help offset the cost of youth summer camps, conferences and mission opportunities.
Summer Camps and Conferences
Summer camps, conferences and activities for youth are open to youth entering 7th grade in the fall through graduated Seniors. These opportunities are designed to help youth explore faith in a concentrated environment among other youth and adults who will help them deepen their perspective of the world and Christ’s love for them. This year the Jr. High’s will attend Highlands Camp in Allenspark, Colorado (insert highlands link). The Sr. High Youth will attend Montreat Youth Conferences (insert MYC link) as a group. Some Sr. High Youth will attend the Presbyterian Youth Triennium (insert link) with a delegation from the Presbytery of Utah.
